House GOP Push US$12 Billion FAA Bill for Infrastructure Upgrades
House Republicans have advanced the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” a comprehensive legislative package that serves as the cornerstone of President Donald Trump’s America First agenda. The bill has garnered nearly 1,000 endorsements from stakeholders, industry groups, and political leaders, with GOP leadership signaling strong commitment to its passage.
The legislation includes provisions that would make Trump-era tax cuts permanent, allocate approximately US$1.6 trillion in spending cuts, expand domestic energy production, reduce federal regulatory authority, and introduce work requirements for welfare programs. It also directs investments toward modernizing infrastructure, including US$12.5 billion allocated to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), while implementing reforms aimed at strengthening border security and streamlining immigration enforcement.
“Every instructed committee exceeded those targets that they were given through our resolution. That means that committees that were told to spend have spent less, and the committees that were told to save actually found more savings than they were targeting,” said Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House. He noted the bill delivered more than US$1.5 trillion in mandated savings, describing this as “historic.”
President Trump urged Republican unity, writing: “Republicans MUST UNITE behind, ‘THE ONE, BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL!’ Not only does it cut taxes for ALL Americans, but it will remove millions of illegal aliens from Medicaid to PROTECT it for those truly in need.”
“The current House bill includes US$1.6 trillion in savings. These are not gimmicks but real reforms that lower spending and improve programs,” said Russ Vought, Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
Support has extended beyond Capitol Hill. Airlines for America (A4A) applauded the FAA investment, stating, “These funds are a vital down payment on updating the technology that guides 27,000 flights, 2.7 million passengers, and 61,000 tons of cargo every day.” The legislation also includes investments in Customs and Border Protection personnel as well as training for aviation workers.
