José Ramón Rivera Parga Takes Helm as AICM Director-General

Contralmirante José Ramón Rivera Parga has been sworn in as the fourth director-general of the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), succeeding retired Vice Admiral Carlos Ignacio Velázquez Tiscareño.
Rivera Parga, an Engineer in Naval Sciences and a graduate of the Heroic Naval Military School as a Pilot Aviator, assumed office following a directive from the President of Mexico and appointment by the High Command of the Mexican Navy, Ministry of the Navy Admiral José Rafael Ojeda Durán.
The swearing-in ceremony, overseen by Admiral César Carlos Preciado Velázquez, Chief Officer, Mexican Navy, took place with the presence of several officials, including the Director-General of the Mexico City Airport Group (GACM), Admiral Juan José Padilla Olmos.

Velázquez Tiscareño, who served as director-general since July 7, 2022, faced challenges during his tenure, including efforts to prevent the sinking of Terminal 2, operational reductions, and the relocation of cargo operations to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).
