Mazatlan, Sinaloa, is preparing to welcome space enthusiasts, as NASA declared it the optimal location to observe the total solar eclipse of 2024. Simultaneously, Mexicana de Aviación is undergoing test flights as part of its efforts to obtain the Air Operator's Certificate, with plans to start commercial operations in less than a week. Additionally, Aguascalientes has partnered with CONACYT, inaugurating a Space Development Station to support local talent and scientific projects.

NASA Identifies Mazatlan as Optimal Spot for 2024 Solar Eclipse

Mazatlan, Sinaloa, is preparing to host thousands of visitors for the total solar eclipse expected on April 8, 2024. The municipality has been identified by NASA as the prime global location to witness this event. In collaboration with the Mexican Space Agency (AEM) and the Mazatlan Astronomical Society, NASA will document the eclipse from northern Mexico. 

Mexicana de Aviación Conducts Test Flights for AOC Approval

Mexicana de Aviación, in its quest to secure the Air Operator's Certificate (AOC), is conducting test flights, marking a step toward commercial readiness. Operations, slated to commence on Dec. 26, will feature repainted Boeing 737-800 aircraft and leased Embraer aircraft. These test flights, conducted by pilots from the Mexican Air Force (FAM), play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards set by the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC). 

Aguascalientes Launches Space Development Station With CONACYT

Aguascalientes has established a Space Development Station in collaboration with CONACYT to develop local talent from universities and the "Aguascalientes: Entidad Inteligente (Ags:EI)" association, led by David Zapata Leal. The agreement outlines plans for the creation of the Space Development Center, initiating 13 scientific and technological projects, positioning Aguascalientes at the forefront of aerospace endeavors in collaboration with federal authorities.
