Mexicana Plans 922% Revenue Growth, 2.6 Million Flyers by 2030
Mexicana de Aviación aims to boost its annual revenue by 922% by 2030, reaching MX$3.85 billion (US$209 million), up from MX$376.9 million (US$20.5 million) in 2024. The plan, outlined in the airline’s Institutional Program 2025–2030 and presented by the Mexican Ministry of National Defense, includes revenue streams from passenger transport, ancillary products, onboard sales, and cargo operations.
The airline also projects transporting 2.63 million passengers in 2030, a 594% increase from the 379,123 passengers recorded in 2024. Cargo operations are expected to reach 1.96 million kg, a 1,610% rise from the 114,631 kg moved last year.
The program targets a 71% load factor in 2030, up 45% from 2024, and a 3.52% share of the national market, a 468% increase from the previous year.
“The airline will maintain a consolidated portfolio of strategic commercial alliances to support growth and collaboration, ensuring competitiveness and a strong market presence. This approach will help address contingencies and sector challenges over time,” the ministry said.
Mexicana de Aviación stressed the importance of a long-term vision beyond administrative cycles. “Our vision for 2050 is to be one of the leading airlines in Mexico and a top carrier in Latin America, recognized for service excellence, operational efficiency, and support for air connectivity and mobility for the benefit of Mexicans,” the airline added.
