The meeting is organized by the National Technological Institute of Mexico (TecNM) through the Villahermosa Institute of Technology, the State Ministry of Education, and the Technological University of Tabasco (UTTab). More than 200 participants from 15 states are expected, including cacao producers, representatives of economic units, federal and state authorities, and academic and research institutions.

Attendees also include the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in Mexico, representatives from the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation (SECIHTI), the Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions, state ministries of agriculture, culture, tourism, and welfare, as well as specialists from cacao-producing countries such as Côte d’Ivoire and Costa Rica.

The agenda includes keynote speeches, panels, and working groups focused on sustainability, genetic and technological innovation, cacao processing, market challenges, and fair trade. The event will also feature a regional gastronomy exhibition, a mini-expo of cacao-derived products, and a special tasting session.

SADER highlighted the meeting aims to strengthen dialogue and cooperation among the agricultural sector, academia, private industry, and government agencies to promote innovation, food sovereignty, and shared prosperity in Mexico.
