The 11th Regional Forum on Agave and Mexiquense Mezcal brought together municipal, state, and federal authorities alongside producers, researchers, and key industry stakeholders.

The event featured conferences and panel discussions on production, certification, and internationalization of mezcal. Key topics included the role of Mexiquense spirits in agri-food tourism, operational management for producer certification in the State of Mexico, and strategies for international expansion—highlighted by the experience of bringing mezcal from southern Mexico State to Paris.

Beyond presentations, attendees enjoyed mezcal tastings and a mixology workshop showcasing creative uses of regional spirits. The forum also offered technical and administrative support to producers, including guidance on brand and label design, trademark registration with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, origin certification, participation in competitions, and information on agave safety and nutrition.

Visitors sampled and purchased local products, underscoring the cultural and economic importance of mezcal in Mexico State. Organizers emphasized that the forum reflects a joint effort to strengthen production, commercialization, and cultural promotion of agave and mezcal, particularly in southern Mexico State, where the industry is a source of identity, economic growth, and regional pride.
