According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Mexico's beef production is expected to increase from 2.21Mt in 2023 to 2.26Mt in 2024. This anticipated growth will allow the country to maintain self-sufficiency in beef, with national consumption expected to exceed 2.2Mt, resulting in a surplus available for export.

In terms of international trade, Mexico is set to export 310,000t of beef in 2025, marking an increase of nearly 7% compared to the 290,000t projected for 2024. Globally, total beef trade among countries is anticipated to reach 12.9Mt, with Brazil leading beef exports at 3.6Mt, followed by Australia, India, and the United States. The USDA forecasts global beef production to reach approximately 60.8Mt in 2025, representing a slight decline of about 0.8% from the 61.3Mt estimated for this year. The United States is expected to remain the largest beef producer, generating 11.8Mt, just ahead of Brazil, which is projected to produce 11.7Mt.
