BYD Dismisses Rumors of Mexico Plant Delay
BYD has denied rumors of halting the construction of a factory in Mexico, confirming that the project is on track.
"We have not postponed any decision regarding the factory we plan to build in Mexico for the local market," said Stella Li, Regional Chief for the Americas, BYD. This statement was made in response to an earlier report by Bloomberg News, which suggested that the company had delayed its investment in Mexico until after the US elections in November.
"We are continuing to work on building a factory with the highest technological standards for the Mexican market, not for the US market, nor for the export market," Li clarified.
The report from Bloomberg had initially raised concerns by suggesting geopolitical factors, particularly the upcoming US elections and the resulting potential trade policy changes.
