Human development has shaped our way of producing and consuming throughout history. From the Industrial Revolution, each period has left its mark on industry and innovation. Now, the time has come for Mexico to move its industry and talent into the Industry 4.0 era, says Esperanza Ortega, President, CANACINTRA.

CANACINTRA has actively worked to establish the 'Made in Mexico' brand, aligning with the significant growth experienced by companies from the 1960s to the 1980s, resulting in substantial positioning. The country’s current appeal for regions like the United States, Canada, and Asia is due to remarkable advances in manufacturing and talent. However, maximizing the potential of local human talent remains crucial, requiring the utilization of available technologies to train and retain employees within the country.

“The technologies available in Mexico today should be used to train our own employees, retaining them within Mexico so that we do not witness talent moving to other countries; talent that could be here with us," Ortega says.

Despite difficulties, Mexico ranks among the Top 58 economies and its swift recovery is anticipated following the recent crisis. Academia and education stand as pivotal axes to strengthen national potential and tackle present and future challenges.

"Now, our country has the opportunity to occupy a prominent place in the world's spotlight, thanks to its outstanding manufacturing and the valuable talent of its people."

To drive this transformation, it is crucial for Mexico to address critical issues like renewable energies, proper waste management, and the implementation of inclusive educational policies. “These solutions and innovations will be essential pillars for a more sustainable and competitive Mexico on the global stage, now and moving forward,” says Ortega.
