Stellantis Mexico reported its most robust sales performance since 2012, with RAM vehicles playing a significant role in this achievement.
RAM achieved a record-breaking year, selling 34,158 units, marking a 39% surge from the previous year. In 2023, Stellantis Mexico's overall growth reached 96,795 units, a 30% increase, with December proving to be the best in recent history—selling 11,986 units, a 34% jump from December 2022.
Notably, RAM vehicles reported their highest sales ever in December 2023 with 6,070 units, contributing significantly to their yearly performance. The Ram 700 model achieved historic sales figures, totalling 13,942 units, including exceptional December sales.
Alongside RAM's success, brands like Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT, Jeep, and Peugeot—also part of Stellantis Mexico—contributed substantially to the overall robust sales figures throughout 2023.
Alongside its sales year, Stellantis is set to release a hydrogen-powered RAM truck in the US market by late 2026 or early 2027, as confirmed by Carlos Tavares, CEO of the automotive group. These trucks, developed with hydrogen fuel cells from their subsidiary, Symbio, are set to offer a range of 320 miles on a single charge or 200 miles when towing.
Carlos Tavares, Stellantis' CEO, confirmed their commitment to hydrogen technology during the inauguration of a hydrogen cell factory in France. The company aims to expand hydrogen fuel cell offerings for larger European van models under brands like Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel, assuring a 500-kilometer range and less than ten minutes for refueling.
