Q: What is TEAM’s role in the technological industry in Mexico? How has it changed over the company’s 40 years?

A: We started with Hewlett-Packard as our sole vendor, but quickly recognized the evolving needs of the industry and decided to expand our offer into a comprehensive portfolio of solutions tailored to meet technological demands. Throughout the years, we continuously reinforced our solution-oriented approach, prioritizing emerging trends, such as cybersecurity and cloud computing, which have gained substantial momentum in recent years. Since we first started 40 years ago, we have adapted and committed to addressing the dynamic landscape of technology in Mexico.

Q: What are the solutions TEAM offers that most companies need for their digital evolution?

A: TEAM offers solutions that cater to the most pressing needs of companies, which are cybersecurity and cloud services. Cybersecurity solutions are essential components of a robust digital infrastructure, mitigating the risks associated with hacking and other threats. This area has witnessed significant growth, particularly after the pandemic. Cloud computing has also emerged as a pivotal solution enabling companies to enhance efficiency, leverage advanced capabilities, and add substantial value to their operations. We address these needs through our  Stratosphere Cloud and Stratosphere as a Service initiatives.

Q: What role does TEAM play in driving this transformation?

A: TEAM’s role is in introducing novel technologies to businesses through our distribution channels. We focus on empowering our network by providing advanced training and fostering capabilities, particularly in areas such as cloud computing. We also prioritize strategic alliances and continuously enhance our specializations. This commitment significantly elevates the technological prowess of our clients, enabling them to harness technology more effectively. In recent years, we expanded into operating services, allowing us to impart best practices directly to these enterprises.

Q: How has Stratosphere as a Service contributed to the success of TEAM and its clients?

A: By embracing the concept of "as a service," we introduced a disruptive approach that adds substantial value and enables us to address market needs more effectively. With this service model, clients benefit from a comprehensive package that includes implementation, operation, and maintenance, rather than just acquiring the product itself.

The key value proposition lies in our ability to offer capabilities that cater to a broad spectrum of end-users. Clients are relieved from the burden of comprehending the intricate technological aspects of Stratosphere, or other solutions, and can instead focus on leveraging our capabilities to enhance their customer service or develop innovative solutions within their own businesses. Stratosphere as a Service emerges as a catalyst for mutual success, empowering clients to excel in their respective domains while driving growth and innovation within TEAM.

Q: How are Mexican SMEs embracing digital transformation and how are their priorities shifting?

A: Over the past three years, we have witnessed a notable digital transformation among enterprises and SMEs in Mexico, characterized by a shift toward greater mobility. This shift has unlocked new capabilities, particularly evident in cybersecurity practices. These were previously confined to corporate spaces but today’s landscape demands multifaceted protection across various fronts.

The evolution toward mobile apps has also become pronounced, reflecting changing user needs and preferences. The demand for analytics has become more refined and targeted. Before, analytics could be observed on desktop monitors but today's requirements call for more precise, real-time analytics solutions. Priorities have shifted toward embracing mobility, enhancing cybersecurity measures, and leveraging analytics to drive informed decision-making.

Q: How is Mexico’s IT sector evolving and what major trends is it adopting?

A: There is a notable increase in awareness, particularly regarding data analytics, cloud, edge computing, and hybrid solutions. The pandemic served as a catalyst, marking a pivotal moment in embracing digital transformation, so companies now recognize the immense potential of cloud-based solutions. These solutions offer unparalleled scalability and accessibility without the need for physical proximity, especially for SMEs. Cloud technology presents an infinite spectrum of possibilities for technological advancement, enabling exponential growth and cost reduction for businesses.

Remote access to applications and intellectual resources has reshaped how businesses operate and innovate. The cloud has democratized access to advanced technological capabilities, enabling organizations to optimize processes and drive innovation irrespective of size or scale.

Q: How will nearshoring affect the tech industry in Mexico? How will TEAMs come into play?

A: Nearshoring is poised to have a significant impact on Mexico's tech industry, ushering in increased investment and employment opportunities across various sectors. With a data center in Queretaro and our new data center in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, we aim to reach new companies and be a part of technological development in this context. We are also integrating new capabilities of our “IT” ecosystem, so we can deliver new services.

Q: What are TEAM’s priorities and goals for 2024, and how do you plan to accomplish them?

A: In 2024, TEAM will focus on its core solutions, with particular emphasis on cloud, as a service and cybersecurity. While we prioritize these areas, we are also actively engaging our distribution channels to promote the adoption and understanding of these solutions. It is crucial to highlight that our focus extends beyond just cloud services, although cloud computing remains a significant growth area, projected to maintain double-digit expansion.

We will also develop multi-cloud environments and prompt businesses to explore diverse cloud platforms and hybrid solutions. Whether through on-premise solutions or hybrid architectures that integrate hardware and cloud services, we aim to empower businesses to navigate the complexities of the digital ecosystem effectively.
