Data, Technology the Foundations for Successful Digital Future
Q: How does Hitachi Vantara stay ahead of the curve in terms of technological advances and changing customer needs?
A: We stay ahead by continually investing in R&D. We focus on being the best in certain product and service lines and not getting distracted by fashionable trends, which allows us to distinguish ourselves from the competition and maintain the highest quality within our products. By listening to and understanding the specific needs of our customers, we are able to assess incoming trends and design around them, customizing our solutions to fit the contexts of any of our markets.
Q: How do you envision your product portfolio evolving in response to emerging technologies and changing market demands?
A: The evolution of our product portfolio is a dynamic and adaptive process, of which the incorporation of technologies will be an important piece. We are expanding our capabilities in areas such as AI, machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to offer solutions that not only respond to, but anticipate our customers' needs. The integration of these technologies allows our customers to gain deeper insights and make more informed and agile decisions. We are also launching a new line of specialized products for cloud integration to ensure storage protection. This line, which is being launched in collaboration with Amazon, integrates AI tools for threat detection and task automation. It is also more efficient in terms of energy consumption.
Q: How have your company's solutions solved significant challenges for customers?
A: A key example is our work with a major healthcare provider that was facing challenges in managing large volumes of patient data. We implemented our advanced data analytics and warehousing platform, which enabled the organization to significantly improve the accuracy of its diagnostics and optimize resource management. The provider not only increased its operational efficiency, but also improved the quality of patient care.
Another case is our collaboration with a global manufacturing company that was looking to reduce operating costs and improve the efficiency of its supply chain. Using our IoT and data analytics solutions, we developed an intelligent monitoring and management system that provided real-time visibility of the entire production chain. This enabled rapid problem identification and resolution, reducing downtime and costs, while increasing productivity and final product quality.
Q: What are the main challenges you address for Mexican government agencies in terms of data management?
A: Governments in Mexico face several critical challenges in data management, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. First, managing large volumes of data efficiently and securely is a complex task. Agencies need to ensure data integrity and accessibility while complying with privacy regulations and standards. Modernization of outdated infrastructure is essential to handle this large volume of data and provide more efficient and transparent public services.
In terms of cybersecurity, threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated and frequent. Government agencies must protect sensitive data against cyberattacks, which requires investments in advanced technologies and continuous training for staff. Digital transformation is also a significant challenge as it involves not only the adoption of new technologies, but also a cultural change within government organizations.
Q: What changes and trends are you observing in the Latin American market regarding cloud infrastructure?
A: In the Latin American market, we have observed a trend toward the adoption and integration of hybrid cloud infrastructure. This is largely due to the need for flexibility and scalability demanded by enterprises in the region. Hybrid cloud infrastructure allows organizations to combine on-premises resources with public cloud services, giving them the ability to quickly adapt to changing market demands and optimize costs.
We have also noticed an increase in Latin American companies' confidence in the hybrid cloud, driven by the maturity of the associated technologies and growing concerns about security and compliance. Organizations are looking for solutions that allow them to maintain control over sensitive data while leveraging the benefits of the public cloud for less critical workloads. This combination of control and flexibility is driving increased adoption of hybrid cloud infrastructure across the region.
Q: How does Hitachi Vantara’s mission align with the broader digital transformation landscape in Mexico?
A: Hitachi Vantara's mission aligns with Mexico’s digital transformation by delivering innovative solutions that enable enterprises and government organizations to make the most of their data to drive growth, efficiency, and innovation. In a market where digital transformation is increasingly imperative, our mission is to provide technologies and services that help customers adapt and thrive in this constantly evolving environment.
Q: What metrics does the company use to track its sustainability goals? How does it ensure transparency and accountability in reporting environmental and social impacts?
A: We use a variety of key metrics, covering areas such as carbon emissions reduction, resource efficiency, diversity, and inclusion. These metrics are established in line with our global sustainability commitments and are integrated into our operational and decision-making processes throughout the organization.
To ensure transparency and accountability in reporting environmental and social impacts, we follow rigorous international reporting standards, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). We are also committed to clearly and transparently communicating our sustainability efforts to all our stakeholders, including our customers, employees, investors, and the community at large.
Q: How do you plan to differentiate your AI service to ensure you remain a market leader and that your customers derive sustainable value through these solutions?
A: In an environment as dynamic as one involving AI, differentiation becomes a key factor for long-term success. By collaborating with other players within the industry, such as NVIDIA for the development of Hitachi IQ, we deliver solutions that are not only technologically advanced, but also backed by strong industry knowledge and a detailed understanding of business use cases.
Q: What are the main objectives you expect to achieve by the end of 2024 in terms of growth, revenue, and profitability?
A: Our goal is to achieve 30% growth in Mexico by the end of 2024, backed by the 43% growth we recorded in the 2021-2022 period. We also aim to guarantee a 100% data availability at all times for all our companies. In Central America, Hitachi Vantara grew by 75% last year, reflecting the growing demand for its highly reliable technologies and services. The company is focusing on building strong partnerships with customers, offering added value that goes beyond competitive pricing and solving customer-specific business cases.
Hitachi Vantara operates on the premise that data is the most important asset in today's business landscape. Beyond offering conventional technology solutions, we urge companies to put data at the center of all their operations and strategic decisions. This means not only ensuring data availability and protection, but also prioritizing data governance to ensure data integrity and usability. We are committed to providing tools and expertise in automated management and rapid data recovery, enabling our clients to navigate their digital transformation with confidence and security. In an environment where rapid technology adoption can pose challenges, we position ourselves as strategic partners to guide companies toward a secure and successful digital future, based on a solid foundation of data and technology expertise.
