Q: What key factors have allowed Splunk to consolidate its presence in Mexico?
A: Since our entry in 2005, we have evolved considerably in Mexico and consolidated our position as a leader in the industry, especially in the field of cybersecurity. Over the years, we have been recognized for our ability to provide a data analytics platform that is agnostic in terms of data source and format. This approach has allowed us not only to solve problems in cybersecurity, but also to extend our solutions to other areas, adapting to the hybrid architectures that predominate in companies.

Q: In which sectors of the Mexican market have Splunk's products found greater penetration?
A: In Mexico, our products have found greater penetration in the finance, industry, and retail sectors. Our platform is agnostic in terms of data source and format, allowing customers to develop specific use cases, such as fraud prevention and real-time transaction monitoring. This not only improves cybersecurity, but also brings resilience to the business, ensuring that issues are quickly identified and resolved. We also provide end-to-end visibility for the retail sector, helping businesses ensure product availability across channels and optimize the customer experience.

Q: What are the main challenges Splunk faces in helping to build a more secure and resilient digital world in Mexico?
A: Operational resilience depends on multiple factors, especially in complex environments such as e-commerce, where various areas operate in isolation. Our goal is to connect these areas and facilitate communication between them, providing end-to-end visibility. This requires acting as interlocutors between different roles, from CTOs to operations managers, to identify operational issues faster and reduce mean time to identify and respond (MTTR). This approach helps us improve our customers' organizational resilience.

Q: How has the acquisition of Splunk by CISCO influenced the latter’s strategy in Mexico and what additional benefits has it brought to local customers?
A: Our alliance with CISCO has allowed us to leverage its robust channel and distribution ecosystem, infrastructure and leadership in areas such as connectivity, security, and video conferencing, which has significantly enhanced our market presence. Thanks to this synergy, we have strengthened our brand and achieved greater penetration in the industry, benefiting customers in Mexico and abroad.

Q: How have Splunk’s solutions helped to stop problems before they affect Mexican customers?
A: Our impact in the Mexican market is exemplified by what we achieved with customers in multiple sectors, helping them to develop use case to be more resilient on their business operations, maintain and improve their service level agreements and offer a better user experience to their customers.
One example is Soriana. The company adopted our platform after dealing with visibility problems in its infrastructure that increased the risk of fraud and made incident response difficult. After the adoption, Soriana reduced the time it took from incident detection to its investigation and response from 48 hours to only two hours. The MTTR at points of sale was also reduced, from two days to 30 minutes. These measures allowed Soriana to achieve real-time visibility over 40,000 devices and 15,000 points of sale, optimizing security and facilitating a better understanding of customer behavior that improved internal decision-making and supported investment in future security projects.

Q: How do Splunk’s solutions adjust to different stages of business growth without compromising security and efficiency?
A: Our go-to-market model is modular, which allows users to process data and expand capabilities as the business needs evolve. We offer licensing options that facilitate usage, even for students, allowing them to start with a personal-use license with a limited capacity of up to 5GB. This provides an opportunity to learn and develop use cases without compromising security or efficiency.

Q: Which technology trends are expected to have the greatest impact on the industry in the coming years?
A: The acceleration of digital transformation in Mexico is driving key trends such as cloud migration and the adoption of AI. Customers are looking for more flexible and elastic environments, which poses a great challenge in managing hybrid infrastructures that combine traditional and cloud services. We are well-positioned to capitalize on these opportunities by offering comprehensive infrastructure visibility, ensuring effective security management and data handling. We also integrate ML and AI into our platform to proactively address these challenges, facilitating cloud transitions and enabling our customers to maximize the value of their data in a complex digital environment.

Q: How is Splunk using AI to improve its solutions, and what tangible impact can customers expect in terms of operational efficiency and security?
A: By integrating AI, we allow users to perform queries in natural language, making it easier to create searches and dashboards without requiring deep technical knowledge. We also apply ML algorithms for predictive analysis, which allows us to anticipate operational failures and optimize bandwidth consumption. This not only enhances operational efficiency but also strengthens security by identifying behavioral patterns that could signal issues before they impact the business.

Q: What specific cybersecurity challenges do Mexican companies face, and how do Splunk's solutions address them?
A: Mexican companies face significant challenges in the cybersecurity landscape, particularly with threats like ransomware. When a security breach occurs, identifying the source and the actors involved becomes crucial, but doing so is complicated, as these attacks can spread quickly. We address these issues by providing tools that ensure quality data collection and effective event correlation. Our platform allows companies to gain clear visibility into lateral movements within their systems, which is essential for understanding how an attack started. From there, we facilitate orchestration and automation of incident responses, which is vital in critical situations like ransomware, where manual intervention is insufficient. Our solutions manage and mitigate these issues effectively.

Q: What are Splunk’s plans to strengthen its presence in Mexico in the coming months?
A: We are focusing on delivering even greater value to our customers and better position ourselves in the market. A key component of our strategy is integration with CISCO, which will allow us to expand our footprint in the region. We are also working on strengthening our channel ecosystem, leveraging its maturity to drive growth. We are also transforming the platform, launching new versions with enhanced functionalities and more seamless integration.

Q: What recommendation would you give to companies that have not yet taken the opportunity to unlock the potential of their data?
A: Companies should give developers the chance to collaborate. We are confident that once they experience how easy it is to integrate their data into our platform and derive value from it, they will recognize the significant benefits it brings to their business. The necessary investment is minimal compared to the positive impact that can be generated, such as millions of dollars in savings and increased productivity.
