Q: How has Octapus position evolved in the cybersecurity and cloud ecosystem for medium-sized companies in Mexico and Latin America?
A: Octapus has transitioned from a purely consultative approach to a product-based model plus consultation to complement the offer, particularly with the Akila solution, which was designed to provide a cybersecurity and compliance base layer upon which customized services are built. This transition responds to the need to reduce operational and reputational risks in mid-sized companies through tools that combine automation, early detection, and scalability, without losing sight of specialized customer care.

Q: Which are the main technical differentiators that set Octapus apart in the region?
A: Our biggest technical differentiator is Akila's ability to continuously monitor clients' technological infrastructure, anticipating failures before they affect the operation. We avoid interruptions that, in sectors such as finance, can represent losses of up to US$400 per minute, according to international benchmarks. The platform automatically resolves incidents in the first instance and escalates only those that require human intervention, which not only reduces operating costs but also optimizes business continuity.

Q: What specific market needs does Octapus seek to address that are not well served by large traditional providers?
A: Many mid-sized companies lack the human and technical resources to manage hybrid or multicloud environments with high levels of security and efficiency. Our proposal seeks to solve that gap by integrating automation, controlled migration, service orchestration, and intelligent backup, allowing our customers to accelerate technology adoption without compromising their infrastructure. We position ourselves as an extended IT arm that enables secure and efficient operations, allowing the customer to focus on their core business.

Q: What are the main industries adopting Octapus solutions?
A: Our portfolio spans multiple sectors, but the industries with the highest adoption are financial, healthcare, technology, government, and those that must follow strict regulations such as PCI DSS or ISO 27001. These sectors prioritize security, which makes them especially receptive to solutions like ours. However, we also work with clients in the retail, logistics, and manufacturing sectors, where the need for operational continuity and internal compliance drives demand for secure and resilient infrastructure services.

Q: How do you assess the impact of your platform in terms of risk reduction, regulatory efficiency, and technology resilience?
A: We are actively working on translating technical indicators, such as our 99.99% uptime, into observable financial metrics, such as savings from avoiding downtime due to cyberattacks. In sectors such as logistics or manufacturing, a week of downtime can represent critical losses in inventory, turnover, and productivity plus the reputational damage. Our platform allows us to quantify this avoided risk through services such as backups, data recovery, and operational continuity, helping our clients to see that investments in security are not an expense, but a tangible guarantee of financial and operational stability.

Q: What success stories exemplify the value that Octapus is bringing to the Mexican market?
A: Using the Akila platform, we helped a client in the financial sector to implement a brand monitoring module that allows us to detect phishing attempts on websites. This allows us to identify malicious domains, trigger takedown processes, and prevent fraud before it escalates. It is a preventive approach that allows our customers to act with agility, even when dealing with external partners, and thus avoid significant reputational and financial damage.

Q: What are the main functional components of Akila and how does it integrate with your customers' existing technology infrastructure?
A: Akila has four modules: monitoring, vulnerability scanning, observability, and compliance. The observability module allows us to ensure that the customer's entire technology infrastructure, from servers to critical applications, is operating correctly. Vulnerability scanning identifies weaknesses in systems, such as open ports or insecure connections, providing detailed visibility into the security status of the client’s infrastructure.

The compliance module helps companies comply with regulations such as ISO, PCI, or SOC, automating the review of infrastructure and generating audit-ready reports. Finally, Monitoring extends outside the organization, analyzing the dark web, social networks, and other sources to detect if emails, card’s BINs, or sensitive data have been exposed. We immediately notify the client to make proactive decisions.

Q: How do you ensure operational continuity and 24/7 availability in critical environments?
A: We ensure operational continuity through a hybrid product and service approach. We offer backup-as-a-service and disaster recovery to raise mirrors if an attack occurs, without the need to have a duplicate infrastructure permanently active. This ensures that the client continues to operate while we manage the contingency, avoiding interruptions and optimizing the use of cloud resources. Our approach allows us to act immediately without operational setbacks.

Q: What kind of technical and strategic support do you offer to companies that are in the process of digital transformation or migration to the cloud?
A: We approach each cloud migration process from a consultative perspective, starting from a thorough analysis of the existing infrastructure, operational needs, and regulatory framework of each client. Our priority is to understand the business objective before defining the technological solution, since in many occasions the initial proposal of the client is not the most efficient or cost-effective. We act as a strategic partner that guides the transition, clearly differentiating between the requirements of industries such as finance, which may need daily backups, and manufacturing sectors where weekly backups are sufficient.

Q: What is the main operational advantage that Octapus Cloud provides compared to the large vendors in the region?
A: Our main operational advantage lies in cost predictability. Providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, and Azure use highly variable and unpredictable payment models. We offer an infrastructure with fixed rates, which allows for more accurate financial planning. This structure is especially useful for companies that do not require constant modification of their technological resources and are looking to optimize their budget. In addition, we have data centers in both Mexico and the United States, which allows us to comply with local regulations without sacrificing flexibility or connectivity with other multi-cloud environments.

Q: How does Octapus use AI to strengthen its competitive positioning?
A: We use AI to maximize operational efficiency and informed decision making. AI is not our core product, but we integrate it into solutions through intelligent agents capable of interpreting technical findings and translating them into actions understandable to non-specialized users. This allows us to automate critical tasks, such as vulnerability assessment in complex environments, facilitating effective risk control in real time and reinforcing our competitive positioning in cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.

Q: What technological challenges do Mexico's medium-sized companies face as they seek to adopt a proactive rather than reactive security posture?
A: Medium-sized enterprises face a structural lag in technical capabilities, particularly in the validation and auditing of AI-driven tools. The accelerated adoption of Generative AI models, such as ChatGPT or Gemini, without a thorough security review is introducing vulnerabilities that are not detected with traditional methods. This knowledge gap generates technological dependence without reliability criteria, which makes it necessary to rethink cybersecurity training processes to include critical evaluation of the outputs generated by these platforms.

Q: What are Octapus' priorities for the remainder of 2025 and the first half of 2026?
A: We are executing a strategic transition to a model based on self-managing technology products, designed to suit both SMEs with limited resources and large corporations with advanced compliance requirements. This approach requires a scalable, secure, and easy-to-implement architecture that allows us to consolidate regional operations under homogeneous technical standards.

Q: What new business verticals is Octapus exploring outside Mexico?
A: Our international expansion strategy focuses on consolidating operations beyond Mexico and Colombia, prioritizing markets where we already have traction, such as Peru, Ecuador, and Chile. We are also analyzing opportunities in the United States and Brazil. This evolution is possible thanks to a change in our model that positions consulting as a complement, not as the core of the business. This move allows us to scale with our own technological solutions under a replicable and sustainable structure that maintains quality service in different regulatory and operating environments.
