The Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO) reported 139 consumer complaints on the second day of Buen Fin, marking a decrease compared to previous years. Of these, 103 complaints have been resolved, resulting in MX$839,223 being refunded to consumers, according to the agency.

PROFECO noted that 33 cases remain under review, two could not be resolved through conciliation, and one was transferred to another institution. The most common complaints were related to failure to honor advertised prices, followed by unfulfilled offers, delivery delays, order cancellations, and refusal to deliver items, stated Iván Escalante Ruiz, Head of PROFECO.

Mexico City recorded the highest number of complaints, followed by the State of Mexico, Jalisco, Coahuila, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, and Guanajuato. Retailers with the most complaints included Walmart, Coppel, Bodega Aurrera, Soriana, Sam’s Club, Sears, Liverpool, Chedraui, Elektra, and Movistar. During the event, PROFECO assisted 6,135 consumers.
