Fibra Danhos announced plans to invest MX$6 billion (US$321 million) in the construction of a new shopping center in Oaxaca, expanding its portfolio beyond its traditional markets. The project, named “Parque Oaxaca,” aims to enhance the region’s retail offering and stimulate local economic activity.

Salvador Daniel Kabbaz Zaga, CEO, Fibra Danhos, confirmed that the land for the project has been secured with support from local authorities. The company expects the development to be comparable in size to its properties in Mexico City.

Kabbaz stated that the shopping center will be built according to sustainability standards and integrated into the urban environment. He emphasized that the goal is for the project to engage with the city and its residents while generating economic opportunities.

Construction of Parque Oaxaca is projected to take 30 to 36 months. Fibra Danhos said the expansion reflects confidence in sustained demand for retail spaces in Mexico, despite sector challenges such as high costs and regulatory hurdles.

Kabbaz highlighted the performance of Parque Tepeyac in Mexico City, which has attracted more than 2 million monthly visitors since its 2022 opening, as an example of the company’s successful growth strategy.
