Meta has unveiled a new collaboration with Oakley to launch AI-powered smart glasses, further expanding its wearable technology offerings after the success of the Ray-Ban Meta line.

The new product, Oakley Meta HSTN, is part of Meta’s extended partnership with EssilorLuxottica, the parent company of Oakley and Ray-Ban. This launch aligns with growing consumer interest in AI-integrated wearables.

The Oakley Meta HSTN glasses feature a hands-free, high-resolution camera, open-ear speakers, water resistance, and integration with Meta AI. A limited-edition model will be available for preorder starting July 11 at US$499 (MX$9,568), with additional models priced from US$399 launching later this summer.

Meta plans to initially roll out the product line in North America, Australia, and several European countries, followed by expansion to Mexico, India, and the United Arab Emirates by year-end.

The Oakley Meta HSTN will also make its debut at prominent events, including Fanatics Fest and UFC International Fight Week this month.

Since launching the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, Meta has reported sales in the millions, indicating strong consumer interest in its wearable products. This announcement comes as Snap prepares to launch its own smart glasses, Specs, in 2025, while other tech giants like Google continue to invest in AI-powered eyewear.
