CFE Capital has announced that Banco Citi México, was designated as the new trustee for CFE Fibra E. The decision was made at a meeting of the Trust's holders on July 21, 2025, after a detailed analysis of a shortlist of candidates. Citi Mexico was selected based on its ability to ensure operational continuity, protect the Trust's assets, and support value generation for its holders, shared the state company.

The Substitution Agreement was signed on Aug. 18 by CFE Capital, Citi Mexico, Monex (the common representative of the holders), and CIBanco. The agreement will become effective on Aug. 28, 2025. The Administrator will provide more details on the substitution at the next meeting of the trustholders.

The substitution occurs amid restrictions imposed by the US Treasury Department, which has banned certain fund transfers to CIBanco, Intercam Banco, and Vector Casa de Bolsa after identifying operations allegedly linked to money laundering related to fentanyl trafficking. However, CFE Fibra E continued its regular operations despite the foreign restrictions and distributed MX$825 million to its holders in 2Q25, reaffirming its role as a financial vehicle linked to electricity transmission, an activity reserved for the Mexican state.

CFE Capital has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the interests of CFE Fibra E holders and continuing to manage the Trust with high standards of soundness and transparency.
