INEEL, UTEZ Strengthen Ties To Train New Talent in Energy Sector
The National Institute of Electricity and Clean Energy (INEEL) and Universidad Tecnológica Emiliano Zapata (UTEZ) have reinforced their collaboration to integrate students and faculty into high-level R&D projects. In a recent meeting between INEEL leadership and UTEZ President Gabriela Navarro, both institutions outlined plans to expand student internships, research stays, and professional practice opportunities within the institute’s technical, planning, and commercialization areas.
The initiative aims to provide UTEZ students from fields such as nanotechnology, mechatronics, business, marketing, and digital design with real-world experience in developing technological products. INEEL researchers will guide participants in areas including energy storage, electromobility, vibration monitoring, AI for electrical systems, and commercialization of new technologies.
INEEL leadership highlighted the value of student participation in ongoing projects, while also emphasizing opportunities for UTEZ faculty to contribute through specialized training initiatives such as the Center for Energy Sector Training (CECSE). Planned activities include lab visits, technical talks and postgraduate exchanges for professors.
According to INEEL Director General Víctor Alejandro Salcido González, the collaboration strengthens academic-industry ties while preparing future professionals to address the challenges of Mexico’s energy transition.
