Grupo Bimbo Founder Wins Posthumous Award at 2025 Gala
The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Mexico posthumously awarded the Vasco de Quiroga Recognition to Don Lorenzo Servitje, founder, Grupo Bimbo, during its 2025 Gala Night. The ceremony was held at the Casino Español, the same venue where Servitje’s parents met 85 years ago.
Marinela Servitje Montull accepted the award on behalf of the family. In her remarks, she underscored the symbolic importance of the event's location, emphasizing its profound connection to her family's history.
The Vasco de Quiroga Recognition honors individuals and institutions that have made significant contributions to strengthening Mexico–Spain relations, particularly in trade, industry, services, and investment.
The gala brought together prominent members of the Spanish-Mexican business community and featured speeches by Antonio Basagoiti, President, Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Mexico (CAMESCOM); Inmaculada Riera i Reñé, Director General, Spanish Chamber of Commerce; and Juan Duarte Cuadrado, Spain’s ambassador to Mexico.
In addition to the main award, three other recognitions were presented:

Sustainability Recognition: Awarded to Banco Sabadell and received by David Romero, director of security and institutional relations.

Human Capital Recognition: Presented to Francisco Martínez Domene, CEO of Adecco, for his leadership in organizational transformation centered on people.

SME Recognition: Given to Lanaccess and accepted by Concha Martínez Cano, executive director for Latin America, in recognition of the company’s outstanding performance in the Mexican market.
The event welcomed representatives from both member and non-member companies of the Chamber and was supported by sponsors, including Mach Group, Acciona Energía, Ribera del Duero, Govar Construcción, Amati, Mahou, and Fuensanta.
