European Manufacturers Demonstrate Advanced Health Sector Tech
STORY INLINE POST
In May this year, after a nearly three-year drought of meetings due to the pandemic, T5DC was summoned by several European manufacturers, which we represent and distribute in Mexico, to attend gatherings with all their international distributors.
The first meeting we attended took place in Zuchwil, Switzerland, with Borer Chemie AG’s Industry Division. Last year, T5DC hosted the first American Distributors Meeting for Borer Chemie, which led to the invitation as a special guest to the European Distributors Meeting. It was interesting and refreshing to exchange information and experiences with other distributors about practical applications of the products as well as to see the innovations that Borer Chemie is bringing forward for new technologies that require new cleaning approaches and products.
Throughout the two days of the meeting, we were able to attest to the high level of quality, experience and commitment to solve all the needs of the systematic cleaning of residue in multiple applications and industries: medical devices technologies, optics, metal-mechanic, plastic molds and all sorts of surfaces: ceramics, metals, plastics, glass, and others.
Borer Chemie has products applicable to surfaces that require the highest level of cleanliness, such as semiconductors and the vacuum industry.
They have an excellent laboratory that is incredibly well equipped with the highest cleaning technologies available to develop the appropriate and required cleaning processes for all the applications that need it, including titanium 3D printed medical implants and prosthesis and applications in aerospacial industry. Borer Chemie is. developing not only the appropriate products for cleaning in such industries, but the cleaning process and methods as well. These are cleaning methods that take into account the complexities of parts that are being manufactured (cavities and geometrical complexities).
Without a doubt this is evidence that Borer Chemie is getting ready to support new manufacturing industries.
The second company that we had the opportunity to visit was the manufacturing facility of the Swiss manufacturer DEC Group in Mielec, Poland. From its inception, this company has specialized in the handling of powders in contention, and in recent years, it has grown to be a able to offer everything necessary to manufacture in contention, from raw materials to final products in every possible size of dose, from molecular raw materials to final products and from micrograms to kilograms and everything in between. This type of manufacturing prevents a lot of risks, reduces costs, and saves a great deal of time, which is why the manufacturing trend of biotechnologics, vaccines and more is going in this direction where applicable.
Due to the pandemic, this was our first visit to this facility, and to us it was an amazing and impressive experience to see the size of the operation and the high level of organization used for the manufacturing of this high-tech equipment that applies to many industries, including the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, metal-mechanic, optical, and food and beverage. It also comprised highly qualified and experienced teams to develop the solutions that are required to handle products in high contention.
DEC Group is a solid and innovative company devoted to solving the needs of their clients with the customized solutions they require.
The third and last meeting that we had was in Castelfranco, Italy, with Steelco, a member of Miele Group. It is a company that T5DC also represents in Mexico, and that specializes in the manufacturing of automated cleaning equipment for pharma and medical applications. All types of analytical laboratories as well as pharmaceutical production and conditioning areas that require GMP denominated equipment are potential users of these technologies.
It has been almost 10 years since Steelco acquired ICOS, a company specialized in the manufacturing of sterilization equipment otherwise known as autoclaves, which are needed and used in medical facilities, laboratories and pharmaceutical production (also known as GMPs). The shock from this visit was that due to the pandemic, Steelco has grown exponentially in the last few years to cover the necessities that arose from the need of developing new vaccines, medications, therapies and treatments. The pandemic forced the vivariums to grow massively since pre-clinical and clinical trials in the development of these new treatments need to be performed on laboratory animals, such as mice, rats, horses and rabbits. Therefore, this new stream of technological growth pushed Steelco to create automated cleaning and sterilizing systems for everything needed in vivariums (boxes, beds, drink dispensers, among others.). All while still accommodating the increased needs for autoclaves and washers, since the need for these increased massively as well with the pandemic and the need to prevent virus dispersion in all environments.
As a conclusion to this series of visits that we participated in, we can see that Mexico is considered throughout the world as an important pole of development for the manufacturing of vaccines, medications and medical devices. In addition, we are considered a country with great opportunities for growth and development, with many professional and highly qualified people who can address the needs of these industries. Mexico can not only fulfill its own demands but it can also support other countries on different continents.
In short, we are an attractive country, and we must keep our guard up amid the growth and development of industries that require technology. Mexico has a lot to offer the health industry.
