Tecnológico de Monterrey joins forces with Zentynel Frontier Investments to strengthen scientific entrepreneurship and biotech innovation, focusing on oncology, aging, and applied science to connect research with industry impact.

Mexico’s population is being burdened by underspending the healthcare system, which strains the finances of individuals. With high out-of-pocket expenses and uneven access across the country, innovation and collaboration are increasingly seen as key to bridging gaps in coverage and quality of care.

“There is innovation in Mexico, but equitable access remains a challenge. Innovation must be directed and adapted to meet the needs of patients,” says Jaen Velázquez, Director of Strategy and Business Development, Siemens Healthineers.

As part of Tecnológico de Monterrey’s initiatives, the institution signed a collaboration agreement with Zentynel Frontier Investments to support scientific and biotechnological development in Latin America, focusing on oncology and aging. The partnership seeks to promote projects that combine research with market-oriented innovation.

“Latin America is experiencing a defining moment to translate scientific ideas into scalable ventures,” says Joel Cano, Director of Technology Transfer, Tecnológico de Monterrey. He adds that fostering collaboration among research institutions, investors, and industry is key to sustaining innovation.
