Sanner Group Acquires Gilero to Expand Global Device Services
Sanner Group, a global leader in healthcare packaging and medical device contract development and manufacturing (CDMO), has acquired Gilero LLC, a Durham, North Carolina-based medical device design and development company. The acquisition strengthens Sanner’s position as a provider of end-to-end services for drug delivery, diagnostics, and medtech, while expanding its presence across key markets, including Mexico.
“Gilero’s commitment to providing exceptional service to its customers aligns with our long-standing dedication to support our clients. Additionally, with a greater global footprint, notably across the United States and Mexico in key biopharma and medtech hubs, we foster greater collaboration with partners and can mitigate global supply chain issues by providing our services at a local level,” says Hans-Willem van Vliet, CEO, Sanner.
With the integration of Gilero’s expertise, Sanner aims to deliver a comprehensive range of services, from design and development to manufacturing and assembly, as reported by Sanner. The acquisition builds on Sanner’s ongoing strategy to grow its capabilities, following its purchase of Springboard Pro last year. While Springboard Pro focused on the early stages of medical device development, the Gilero acquisition enhances Sanner’s production capacity.
“Gilero is the perfect fit for Sanner’s mission to become a global leader in medical technology, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and consumer healthcare. This acquisition significantly strengthens our end-to-end capabilities in the United States and expands our production footprint,” added van Vliet.
Gilero brings to Sanner a team of experienced engineers and manufacturing specialists across its facilities in the United States, Mexico, and Ireland. The acquisition is expected to enhance Gilero’s ability to offer in-house injection molding services globally, further integrating its operations and better serving its customers in the pharmaceutical and medtech industries, according to Ted Mosler, Co-Founder and CEO, Gilero.
Moreover, for Sanner, the acquisition of Gilero is a key step in building a next-generation medical device CDMO that blends innovation with its long-standing presence in healthcare packaging. The company’s portfolio, which includes desiccant packaging and moisture management solutions, will now be supported by Gilero’s design and manufacturing expertise. The partnership expands Sanner’s global production capabilities, allowing it to offer full-service solutions to customers in the world’s largest markets.
