FIBRA Shop's 2024 Report Highlights 45% Clean Energy Use

Retail-focused FIBRA Shop published its 2024 Sustainability Report, presenting the company's most relevant advances in ESG matters. Key achievements for 2024 include progress in renewable energy consumption, social responsibility, and the direct hiring of its workforce.

In the environmental category, FIBRA Shop reported that 45% of the total energy consumption in its shopping centers came from clean sources, an effort supported by the installation of solar panels on 15 of its properties. The company also completed its first evaluation of climate transition risks.

On the social front, FIBRA Shop invested MX$18 million (US$982,139) in social and volunteer programs, which benefited more than 388,000 people through 4,219 events. The company also reported it has made 83% progress in its initiative to directly hire all personnel who previously provided services through external companies, intending to improve their salaries and benefits.

Regarding governance, FIBRA Shop updated its Sustainable Financing Framework, which received a positive external opinion from S&P Global. The rating agency described the company's objectives in energy, water, and sustainable buildings as ambitious.
