Lummus Technology, a global leader in process technologies and energy solutions, and sustainable tire recycling pioneer InnoVent Renewables sign a master cooperation agreement (MCA) to jointly license and deploy InnoVent’s continuous tire pyrolysis technology worldwide.

“This agreement marks the next phase of our partnership with InnoVent, as we work together to scale and advance a proven circular technology. It also reflects our continued commitment to reducing tire waste and building on Lummus' legacy of collaborating with technology innovators to solve complex sustainability challenges,” says Leon de Bruyn, President and Chief Executive Officer, Lummus Technology.

Earlier this year, both companies signed a memorandum of understanding, and the MCA now solidifies their strategic alliance. Under the agreement, Lummus becomes the exclusive global licensor of InnoVent’s proprietary technology, which transforms end-of-life tires (ELT) into valuable byproducts such as pyrolysis oil, gas, carbon black, and steel. The collaboration also integrates Lummus’ downstream processing technologies, enhancing the overall value of fuels and chemical outputs.

“We are excited to move forward with Lummus in this next phase of our partnership. Lummus' complimentary portfolio of technologies and their global presence will be instrumental in scaling up and addressing the environmental and public health challenge posed by the more than one billion end-of-life tires disposed of each year,” says Vibhu Sharma, CEO, InnoVent Renewables.

InnoVent’s pyrolysis platform provides a scalable, end-to-end solution for converting waste tires into sustainable fuels and high-value petrochemicals, covering all stages from pre-processing to purification. The company operates a commercial facility in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, capable of processing up to 1 million passenger tires annually, with plans to expand production capacity to meet growing demand for circular solutions.
