GMXT, CloudMoyo Partner To Modernize Rail Operations With AI
Grupo México Transportes (GMXT), Mexico’s largest rail network, has partnered with CloudMoyo to modernize core railway operations through an AI-driven suite focused on crew management, analytics, and forecasting, as the company sustains a broader investment push aimed at efficiency, safety, and nearshoring-linked growth.
"As Mexico's largest railway network, GMXT is committed to delivering best-in-class rail services for our customers across industries. By adopting CloudMoyo's suite of crew management solutions, we're strengthening our focus on the adoption of the latest advancements in cloud and AI, enhancing our agility, scalability, and positioning ourselves at the forefront of practices that drive efficiency and safety," says Jorge Marquez, COO, GMXT.
Under the partnership, GMXT will implement CloudMoyo Crew Management (CCM) on Microsoft Azure, combining advanced analytics and AI to improve scalability and operational agility across its rail network. Beyond CCM, the deployment includes Crew Analytics, Crew Projection, and CrewWise, a Generative AI assistant intended to support decision-making across supply chain management, transportation, and distribution.
CloudMoyo says CCM is designed to manage the full crew management cycle, from crew deployment to qualification tracking, while maintaining compliance with the Federal Railroad Administration and providing real-time visibility through analytics.
"We are very excited to partner with GMXT in modernizing their rail operations with AI, especially given CloudMoyo's focus on employing generative AI and agentic AI to address enterprise challenges. Being a part of Mexico's largest cargo operator's digital transformation journey is special, particularly as we lead the next phase of transformation with data, advanced analytics, and agentic AI," says Manish Kedia, Co-Founder and CEO, CloudMoyo.
The AI initiative arrives as GMXT has also outlined plans to keep a robust capital program in 2026, targeting modernization of locomotives and wagons, expansion of intermodal capacity, and upgrades to signaling and communications systems across its network. The company has linked these priorities to improving efficiency and safety, supporting industrial growth in northern and central Mexico tied to nearshoring, and strengthening binational connectivity through partnerships with Union Pacific and BNSF Railway, MBN reports.
GMXT’s 3Q25 financial report shows service revenue rose 7.5% year-on-year to MX$48.74 billion (US$2.71 billion) for the first nine months of 2025, even as transported volume (net t-km) fell 4.6%. The automotive segment stood out with 18.4% growth, according to the company.
