PITT OHIO, a prominent leader in regional and national logistics services, has announced Less-than-Truckload (LTL) Express Lane, aiming to enhance cross-border transportation to six key cities in Texas. The initiative will connect shipments from the company’s Cincinnati terminal directly to Laredo, El Paso, McAllen, Brownsville, Eagle Pass, and Del Rio and will be supported by Averitt Express, PITT OHIO’s trusted partner and a leader in the LTL sector.

“This operational setup brings significant improvements over the traditional hub and spoke system utilized by many national carriers. By consolidating freight at a single terminal and dispatching directly to the destination cities, we reduce handling, thereby minimizing the risk of damages, shortages, or lost freight. Our streamlined approach ensures faster transit times, offering superior service levels compared to most national carriers,” says Geoff Muessig, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer, PITT OHIO.

PITT OHIO’s direct-routing model eliminates unnecessary miles, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. “Through more direct routing and the elimination of unnecessary miles, we significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This optimized routing approach not only benefits the environment, but also enhances our operational efficiency, aligning with our goal to deliver exceptional service while maintaining environmental responsibility,” says Muessig.
