Defiance Silver Starts 10,000m Drill Program at Zacatecas Project
Canada-based Defiance Silver started a new drilling campaign at the company's project in Zacatecas. The work is planned as a minimum 10,000m oriented core drill program.
According to Chris Wright, Executive Chair and CEO, Defiance Silver, the program has two main objectives: to guide the next phase of work toward the publication of a new mineral resource estimate for the San Acacio deposit and to test numerous targets that build on previous high-grade silver drilling results, particularly following up on the success at the Lucita discovery in 2021. The drilling is being completed by Major Drilling, a global drilling company with extensive experience operating in Zacatecas.
The Zacatecas project is close to several of Zacatecas’ largest silver producers, including Capstone Mining's Cozamin mine and Fresnillo's Fresnillo silver mine. The project areas, which include San Acacio and the emerging Lucita exploration target, are situated on or near major mineralized structures such as the Veta Grande and Mala Noche trends. The Lucita project also contains the on-strike extension of Zacatecas Silver Corp’s Panuco silver deposit, though Defiance Silver has not independently verified that information, as noted on its website.
