GR Silver Mining has resumed field operations, including drilling, at its Plomosas Silver Project in Sinaloa. Although there have been no security incidents or threats to the company, its staff, or consultants, activities were temporarily paused as of April 29, 2025, to allow time for the Mexican government to carry out efforts to enhance regional security and stability.

Márcio Fonseca, President and COO, GR Silver Mining, confirmed that the security environment in the area has shown signs of improvement based on on-the-ground observations and discussions with community members and government officials. “We are grateful to these stakeholders for their efforts to improve conditions. Our highly experienced in-country team has expressed confidence in the current situation and their ability to safely return to active field exploration. We are very excited to resume sampling and drilling the prospective targets we have outlined. The exploration team has returned to activities on site, prioritizing surface investigations, prior to conducting step-out drilling of high-grade silver results returned from some previous trench sampling in the NW and SE Extensions of the current NI 43-101 resource.”

Earlier trench sampling in the northwest extension returned 56m grading 196g/t silver, including 15m at 472g/t. In the area of the newly identified subparallel hydrothermal breccias, results included 12m at 323g/t silver within a broader 24m zone at 219g/t, with individual samples reaching up to 974g/t over one meter. These results continue to support the company’s belief in the expansion potential of the current resource through additional drilling.

On March 3, the company announced the start of a step-out drilling program designed to extend the mineralized footprint of the San Marcial deposit by up to 350m to the northwest of the current NI 43-101 resource. The program also aims to test for potential new parallel zones just southeast of the current resource. GR Silver Mining has completed surface evaluations over a 500m strike length along a key geological contact where signs of silver mineralization were observed. Initial results point to new drill targets with strong potential for additional discoveries.

While the safety of employees, consultants, suppliers, and local communities remains the  company’s top priority, management believes that current conditions are appropriate for safely resuming field activities, with close monitoring in place. At the same time, GR Silver Mining continues to assess the feasibility of implementing a Bulk Sampling Test Mining program at the previously permitted Plomosas Mine. This would mirror the successful test mining previously carried out at the historical San Juan Mine and would leverage the site’s existing permits and infrastructure. The company views this effort as a strategic step toward building a more substantial presence in Mexico’s silver mining industry.
