GR Silver Mining Secures 5-Year Drill Permit for San Marcial Area
Canada-based junior company GR Silver Mining announced it received a five-year drill permit from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) for its San Marcial Area. The permit authorizes additional step-out and exploration drilling in an extensive area surrounding the Resource Area at the Plomosas Silver project in Sinaloa.
The permit allows for the drilling of an unlimited number of holes from 46 new drill sites. The company stated this provides it with significant flexibility to test multiple targets and orientations. GR Silver Mining noted that the receipt of the long-term permit is evidence that its constructive engagement with Mexican authorities has been effective in advancing the project. “This is the first time that the company has been granted such a long-term drill permit, which bodes well for its initiatives to expand known mineralization and support resource growth,” reads GR Silver’s press release.
With the new permit in hand, the company plans to complete the final three drill holes of its 2025 summer drilling program and incorporate all new data into its 3D model. This will be followed by additional geophysical investigations to help target high-grade zones beneath the existing resource area. Upon completion of these activities, GR Silver will proceed with negotiations with drilling companies for follow-up programs under the new permit, scheduled to begin in late 2025.
GR Silver noted its recent summer 2025 drilling phase has already expanded the San Marcial mineralized footprint, with notable results such as hole SMS25-09, which intersected 75m grading 293g/t silver equivalent. “The excellent drilling results in the summer 2025 drilling phase have expanded the San Marcial mineralized footprint, extending high-grade mineralization a further 100m below the previous resource outline. These results validate our exploration model and highlight the significant potential for future resource growth,” GR Silver concludes.
