Orla Camino Rojo and Universidad Autónoma de Fresnillo (UAF) have formed an alliance to enhance students' training and career opportunities. This collaboration will introduce a range of initiatives, including joint projects, professional internships, and specialized training programs specifically designed for UAF students.
Geovana Cabrera Girón, Dean, UAF, emphasized the importance of developing well-rounded professionals capable of identifying and addressing the challenges and opportunities in the mining sector. "This collaboration will enable our students to apply their knowledge in practical and transformative ways," Cabrera stated. Rafael Sánchez Campos, General Manager, Orla Camino Rojo, emphasized the importance of attracting new talent to the industry. "Our goal is to develop well-prepared, dedicated young professionals, equipped with the experience needed to become the future workforce," he stated.
In recent months, mining companies have been partnering with universities to strengthen students' skills and facilitate their integration into the industry. Last week, Minera Frisco and Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas (UAZ) established a collaboration agreement to promote education, research, and innovation in the mining sector. In August, Tecnológico de Monterrey inaugurated Mexico's first Mining Digitization Academy for Women at the Santa Fe campus. Driven by Women in Mining (WIM) Mexico and INNOMOTICS, the academy gathered 70 women from mining companies such as Peñoles, Grupo México, and Newmont.
