PEMEX has intensified its humanitarian and medical assistance efforts in communities across Veracruz, Puebla, and Hidalgo following the severe rains and flooding that recently struck central and eastern Mexico. The state-owned oil company has combined on-the-ground aid deliveries with mobile medical operations to support thousands of affected families.

In Poza Rica, Veracruz, PEMEX organized a large-scale humanitarian campaign led by CEO Víctor Rodríguez Padilla to assist families who suffered significant damage from the storms. The company distributed 1,850 aid packages containing food, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene products to residents of the Floresta, Independencia, 27 de Septiembre, Gaviotas, and Magisterio neighborhoods.

PEMEX emphasized that the relief effort was made possible by the voluntary donations of its employees across different operational centers, underscoring the company’s sense of solidarity and community service. During the event, management recognized the work of field personnel who operated under challenging conditions during the height of the emergency. Senior executives from administration, exploration and extraction, and energy transformation joined the delivery convoy to highlight the company’s unified response.

Beyond humanitarian aid, PEMEX has also deployed Mobile Medical Units (UMM) in the three most affected states to provide free medical care and basic medicines. Staffed by doctors, dentists, health promoters, and technicians, the units offer general consultations, dental services, ultrasounds, electrocardiograms, and basic lab tests such as glucose and cholesterol screenings.

The UMMs have already reached communities in Xicotepec, Pantepec, and Venustiano Carranza in Puebla; Poza Rica and Álamo Temapache in Veracruz; and Tianguistengo, Hidalgo. All personnel have been trained under Mexico’s Health Emergency Information System (SIESA) to ensure proper data collection and coordination with federal and state health authorities.

PEMEX reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility and community welfare, stressing that its actions are carried out in coordination with the national and regional health authorities. The company said it continues to evaluate additional measures to support the recovery of affected communities and maintain the delivery of quality public services amid ongoing weather challenges.
