Death of the President of Iran. President López Obrador expressed his condolences for the death of Iran's President, Ebrahim Raisi, and the Iranian Foreign Minister in a plane crash. He also took a moment to congratulate Luis Abinader, President, Dominican Republic, on his re-election this Sunday, and to extend best wishes to the incoming President of Panama, José Raúl Mulino.

Pink Wave and Presidential Debate. López Obrador acknowledged the large turnout in Mexico City's Zocalo, where members of the CNTE and supporters of the Pink Wave movement gathered to show support for Xóchitl Gálvez.

"We are less than fifteen days away from the presidential election, and yesterday was an intense day of demonstrations and debate. It showed that Mexico guarantees freedoms, there is no repression, and there is true democracy. The Zocalo was filled with protesters, and the national flag was raised," said López Obrador.

He noted that despite the large number of participants in the Pink Wave movement, only minor scuffles were reported. He called for future demonstrations to remain peaceful.

Best Public Health System in the World. As part of his final government actions and an unfulfilled campaign promise, López Obrador announced that by September this year, Mexico will have the "best public health system in the world," with services being free or available for a minimal fee.

He assured that, currently, up to 80% of the services offered by public hospitals are free. He detailed that 11,000 health centers and 600 hospitals with specialists are being integrated into the new public health system. Also, 11,000 health committees have been created under the The Clinic is Ours program. He specified that budgets will be allocated to these 11,000 committees, based on their size, after the elections.
