BIOBOND, a global company specializing in sustainable materials, has officially entered the Mexican market with a new three-layer antimicrobial coating system designed to protect surfaces, extend material lifespan, and promote safer, more hygienic environments. To support its market entry, BIOBOND has established an exclusive partnership with Insumos Maez, a Bajio-based company that will oversee training, certification, and local implementation.

The company’s expansion comes as Mexico undergoes rapid infrastructure growth across the industrial, energy, and urban sectors, driven by new industrial parks, hospitals, housing projects, and public works tied to the 2026 World Cup.

“The pandemic underscored the importance of maintaining high hygiene standards in both public and private spaces,” said Marco Díaz, co-founder and CEO, Insumos Maez. “With major international events ahead, such as the World Cup, ensuring safe and sustainable environments is essential.”

BIOBOND’s coating system features three protective layers engineered to prevent microbial growth and enhance surface durability. The BioCoat SWaE250 base layer improves adhesion; the BioCoat SSoE250 middle layer seals surfaces and eliminates odors; and the BioCoat SUP250 top layer provides resistance to wear, chemicals, and frequent cleaning—without releasing microplastics.

Applicable to concrete, ceramic, wood, and metal, the system maintains performance even after more than 500 cleaning cycles. It is USDA BioPreferred and Clean Air Gold certified, contributing to LEED v5 and Net Zero sustainability goals.

Dinorah Cambuston, Country Manager, BIOBOND Mexico, said the company is collaborating with construction and contracting firms nationwide to integrate the coating system into hotel, industrial, and commercial projects. “Our goal is to deliver efficient, sustainable, and high-value solutions that meet the evolving needs of Mexico’s industrial and infrastructure sectors,” she said.
