Logistics provider CIMA has opened a new distribution center in Nuevo Leon. Covering 2,600 m², the facility implements a Just-In-Time logistics model that replaces refrigerated boxes with dry ones, cutting fuel and electricity consumption by 30%.

Sustainability is also being integrated into material handling: the center will operate entirely with electric forklifts, supporting CIMA’s target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2% by 2026.

The facility increases storage capacity from 150 to 566 tons—a 277% rise over the previous center—and will streamline the distribution of more than 5,200 tons of goods annually, including 1,249 tons of groceries, 1,614 tons for industrial cafeterias, and 2,351 tons of school meals. Over 900,000 kg of fresh produce will be processed each year, a 56% increase from 2024. Refrigerated chambers with a total capacity of over 70 tons will enhance preservation of perishable items.

The center will manage daily deliveries across 50 routes, covering all 51 municipalities in Nuevo Leon.
