FedEx Express is expanding its electric fleet in Mexico with 72 new vehicles, reinforcing its commitment to operate entirely on electric power by 2040. The announcement coincides with the company’s 35th anniversary in the country.

The new EVs will join FedEx’s existing fleet of over 1,300 vehicles in Mexico and are intended for last-mile delivery and parcel pickup, where emissions are highest. The move advances the company’s goal of making 50% of fleet purchases electric by 2025 under its “Reduce, Replace, Revolutionize” framework.

“Sustainability is a fundamental pillar of our operations, and every step toward a cleaner fleet is an investment in the planet’s future,” said Jorge Torres, Vice President of Operations, FedEx Mexico. “The decisions we make today are key to ensuring a more sustainable tomorrow for future generations.”

FedEx has made measurable progress in reducing emissions. Between fiscal years 2023 and 2025, the company cut its direct emissions (Scope 1) by 6.1%, thanks to initiatives including vehicle electrification, aircraft modernization, and the adoption of alternative fuels.
