Green Tide Sets Philly–Gulf Service for Late 2025
US-based Green Tide Logistics (GTL) has announced a new maritime shipping service that will directly connect Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with the Mexican Gulf ports of Tuxpan and Coatzacoalcos, starting July 28. The service will offer biweekly container transport initially, with plans to scale to weekly operations by the fourth quarter of 2025 in response to growing market demand.
GTL positions itself as an innovator in sustainable logistics, providing what it calls a “clean” maritime corridor for regional cargo flows. Its solutions integrate low-emission vessels, carbon offset initiatives, and fuel consumption reduction strategies through optimized routing and vessel speed management.
The vessels will accommodate standard 20- and 40-foot containers (both dry and refrigerated), 53-foot domestic containers, bulk cargo, and specialized project shipments. Estimated transit time between Tuxpan and Philadelphia is five to six days. The service is designed to support shippers in both Mexico and the United States who are seeking alternatives to overland transport, particularly along congested routes between the US East Coast and Mexico’s Gulf region.
Hans Schriwer, CEO, GTL, said the new corridor represents more than a logistics route — it signals a broader transformation in North American freight movement. “With efficiency, sustainability, reliability, and speed, we offer clients a smarter, cleaner, and strategically integrated supply chain solution,” he stated in a press release.
