Holcim Mexico Aims to Expand Disensa to 2,500 Stores by 2030
Holcim Mexico has announced plans to expand its Disensa retail network from approximately 200 to over 2,500 stores by 2030, positioning sustainable homebuilding as a central pillar of its growth strategy. The expansion is aligned with Holcim’s global NextGen Growth 2030 initiative, which aims to establish 5,000 points of sale across Latin America and strengthen demand for green building solutions.
The company highlighted that Latin America faces a housing shortage of over 26 million units, with self-built homes representing nearly half of regional construction activity. Holcim views Disensa as a critical platform to address this demand sustainably, offering up to 85% of the materials required for a standard home, alongside design support and a competitive pricing model.
In 2023, Holcim further diversified the network’s product offering through the acquisition of Indar, adding more than 10,600 items to Disensa’s catalog. Additionally, the company has implemented three material formats — Express, Standard, and MAX — enabling it to serve a wide spectrum of communities, from dense urban neighborhoods to remote rural areas with limited access to quality construction materials.
Rafael Ayala, Director, Disensa Mexico, stated that the expansion demonstrates Holcim’s commitment to responding to evolving trends in self-construction and renovation. “We aim to provide solutions tailored to each community while reaffirming our commitment to building progress for both people and the planet,” he said.
