Companies are facing growing challenges in finding and retaining qualified talent as market demands and technological advances outpace educational systems, reports Buk. The increasing skills gap has made talent acquisition a critical concern, with 68% of recruiters in Mexico reporting difficulties in filling key positions.

Buk’s HR Trends 2025 study highlights five major trends shaping the future of HR management. The study used AI to analyze almost 4,000 documents from international organizations and academic publications, supplemented by strategic insights from Buk’s experts and interviews with industry specialists.

The study highlights the importance of brand authenticity, arguing that organizations must ensure their corporate culture and value proposition align with the actual employee experience. The study found that 72% of workers consider authenticity a deciding factor in whether they remain with a company. Employers that fail to reflect their stated values risk losing valuable talent.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) also remain a priority. However, 48% of companies still lack mature DEI policies, reads the study. Buk emphasizes that inclusion efforts must go beyond communication and be embedded strategically throughout the organization. Companies with diverse leadership teams are 27% more likely to achieve superior financial performance compared to those without diversity initiatives, adds Buk.

AI is also gradually permeating HR management. While 61% of HR professionals have yet to integrate AI into their processes, 63% of those who have implemented AI use it to enhance fairness in performance evaluations and recruitment. AI can help mitigate unconscious bias and improve decision making, says Buk.

The study explains that the role of HR business partners (HRBPs) is gaining strategic importance. According to the study, 71% of companies aim to strengthen this position to better align talent strategies with business objectives. Companies with a mature HR are twice as likely to exceed financial targets, 12 times more likely to achieve high productivity, and seven times more capable of adapting to changing environments, says Buk.

The study adds that organizations increasingly value cognitive and technological abilities, creative and analytical thinking, digital literacy, continuous learning, resilience, and proficiency in AI and Big Data. Buk urges companies to align their employee value propositions with internal experiences, invest in data analytics tools, strengthen DEI policies, empower HRBPs, and provide training in AI and people analytics to enhance decision making and operational efficiency.
