The financial and insurance sector has become one of Mexico’s leading sources of formal employment, ranking third nationally in job offers during the first four months of 2025, according to data from OCC.

Between January and April 2025, the financial and insurance sector posted 18,540 job vacancies on OCC, placing it among the top three industries with the highest demand for talent nationwide. This trend highlights the sector’s growing importance in Mexico’s labor market and its ongoing need for specialized professionals.

Mexico City concentrated 40% of the total job postings in the sector. Other states with significant activity included Nuevo Leon, State of Mexico, Jalisco, Quertaro, Guanajuato, Chihuahua, Puebla, Veracruz, and Coahuila.

The most sought-after positions in the sector during this period included accounting assistant, accountant, internal auditor, accounts payable analyst, collection agent, treasury analyst, financial analyst, credit and collection analyst, payroll analyst, banking auditor, controller, finance and administration manager, tax manager, fiscal accounting assistant, and cashier.

Among the companies driving this demand were major institutions such as Banorte, BBVA Bancomer Servicios Administrativos, Banco Regional (Banregio), Santander, and Coppel. Employers are seeking professionals with a combination of technical expertise and soft skills. Desired competencies include knowledge of financial regulations, data analysis capabilities, proficiency in technological tools, effective negotiation skills, risk management, and clear communication.

The consistent demand for these roles suggests a sustained need for specialized talent, driven by the sector's evolving regulatory environment and digital transformation efforts.
