Investing in People to Drive Intelligent Mobility
Investing in our people is not just smart business, it is the key to driving Element’s purpose: Moving the world through intelligent mobility. We believe that our greatest asset is our people, which means that by ensuring they feel both challenged and valued, we can retain talent and achieve our objectives. This approach is not just a peripheral strategy but is at the heart of our commitment to productivity and innovation.
By empowering our employees with the tools they need to excel, we lay the groundwork for the development of greener, smarter, and more sustainable fleets. How do we do this? Our strategy includes tailored, on-the-job learning, skill-building, and personalized career advancement planning.
We provide access to a wide range of online courses, workshops, and seminars to enhance skills, which includes over 96,000 courses available via Learn@Element. This program is designed to cultivate leadership through strategic coaching, ensuring our leaders are equipped to guide their teams effectively. Capacity building for our employees translates into enhanced operational efficiency that delivers results for our clients and our shareholders. This year, more than 50 leaders of our organization are participating in either coaching or leadership training.
Recent search from the University of Warwick has shown that happy employees are 12% more productive, a statistic that reinforces the value of establishing a healthy work environment. Since happiness is subjective, at Element we aim for a comprehensive wellness approach. We have designed and implemented programs that promote a balanced work-life dynamic. This includes access to physical, mental, and emotional wellness resources.
One of our key initiatives is our partnership with Betterfly, a platform that encourages healthy habits by transforming them into social impact. Employees can track their wellness activities, such as exercise and meditation, and convert these into charitable donations, reinforcing our commitment to both personal and community well-being.
In 2023, this platform facilitated 4,421 social impact actions through its gamified approach, providing communities with access to clean water, food aid, and technology scholarships. Additionally, it helped our team save approximately 206 hours by offering medical consultations through the platform, compared to traditional services, while team members collectively logged an average of 132,000 steps per month—raising awareness of their mobility and healthy habits. Moreover, we provide regular medical check-ups to ensure our employees' physical well-being is monitored and maintained.
A survey conducted by Hays revealed that 71% of job seekers globally are willing to accept a lower salary if a company’s values align with their own. This statistic highlights the importance of understanding our employees' values. Internal surveys provide insight into our corporate culture's effectiveness and allow for adjustments.
While measuring corporate culture can be complex, our dedication is reflected in both external and internal benchmarks that validate our efforts. We are ranked 41st in the Super Empresas ranking, which recognizes companies in Mexico for their superior employee engagement and corporate practices. Additionally, we are ranked 35th in the Super Empresas para Mujeres ranking, reflecting our commitment to gender equality and support for women in the workplace. This third-party validation underscores our dedication to social responsibility and diversity, which are integral to our organizational values.
When it comes to creating an inclusive work environment with equal opportunities for all, compensation plays a key role. Our commitment to diversity and equity is demonstrated by our salary practices. In our Mexico operations we have no gender pay gap between men and women, a notable achievement in a labor market where men typically earn up to 35% more than women.
Our corporate culture serves as a key differentiator in a competitive landscape and allows us to deliver intelligent mobility solutions both in Mexico and throughout our global operations. As we continue to evolve and adapt, we are committed to ensuring that Element is a place where our people are empowered to provide superior mobility solutions and are also proud to work.
