Q: How did Kelly México transform following the company’s restructuring that took place in July?

A: The restructuration’s primary objective was to enhance the financial performance of the company. We aimed to reallocate our resources strategically, aligning them with our different business units. Kelly Education caters to the educational sector in the US, Puerto Rico and Canada. The Science, Engineering, Telecommunications and Technology (EDTT) division targets specialized markets in these disciplines, recognizing their influence across various sectors. Our Professional and Industrial unit, rooted in Detroit, Michigan, originated from the automotive industry and primarily offers staffing services for the production and industrial sectors in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. The Outsourcing Consulting Group (OCG) specializes in HR processes, offering services such as recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) and managed service provider (MSP) solutions.

This strategic realignment is a crucial step in our journey toward becoming industry leaders in specialized Talent Market Solutions. By honing our focus and strategically reallocating resources, we are positioning ourselves to meet the unique demands of each sector. Our emphasis on specialization and agility ensures that we can tailor our services precisely to the needs of our clients, offering them innovative and tailored solutions.

Q: What is the goal of alliances with the Mexican Association of HR Representatives (AMEDIRH) and the Mexican Association of Human Capital Companies (AMECH)?

A: Kelly México' strategic alliances with prominent associations in Mexico have significantly enriched our understanding of the market and its specific demands. These collaborations have proven to be invaluable in fostering connections within the local business ecosystem. Partnering with these associations, notably AMEDIRH, AMECH and the Quebec Trade Office in Mexico, allowed us to position our message effectively. By leveraging our knowledge and experience, we have contributed meaningfully to these organizations while learning from them in turn. Engaging with these chambers and associations aligns with our belief that active participation in such ecosystems is crucial for meaningful interactions and continuous learning.

In Mexico, where industries like automotive, finance, technology and healthcare thrive, our collaborations have facilitated a transversal approach, addressing the unique needs of various sectors. The Mexican market, geographically diverse with key industrial hubs in Nuevo Leon, Jalisco, San Luis Potosi and Aguascalientes, among other regions, demands specific talent. Kelly México has actively engaged with these regions, recognizing the importance of localized talent solutions. Through these partnerships, we offer specialized staffing services tailored to the requirements of Mexican industries. By working closely with local organizations, we gain insights into best practices and industry-specific demands. This mutual exchange has allowed us to refine our services and respond effectively to the evolving needs of businesses in Mexico.

Q: What specific actions and goals has the company undertaken to promote equitable employment in Mexico?

A: Kelly México  has the Equity@Work initiative, which aligns seamlessly with our core mission and values of fostering a culture of inclusivity, challenging prejudices and biases. Fortune 500 recognized Kelly México as a leading service provider that fosters inclusivity. At the heart of the initiative is the commitment to equal opportunities for everyone in a workplace where every individual is respected and valued. This commitment starts from the top, with our CEO serving as the main ambassador and promoter of these initiatives. We have taken significant steps, including appointing a chief diversity officer, to integrate diversity and inclusion into the structure of our organization.

We have implemented policies against discrimination, ensuring utmost respect for every individual within our workforce. Equal compensation policies have also been put in place and we have established an anonymous hotline for employees to report any misconduct, enabling us to address concerns promptly and impartially. Our efforts extend beyond mere policies as it is crucial that our workforce represents diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences. We believe that by understanding the unique needs and challenges faced by different individuals, we can create an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.

Q: How is Kelly México leveraging its expertise in logistics to support businesses looking to establish operations in Mexico?

A: Kelly México plays a crucial role in supporting businesses looking to establish or expand their operations in Mexico. When we discuss nearshoring, the key differentiator is being close to the demand, making the offshoring process simpler and more efficient. A country must meet some specific criteria to attract nearshoring investments, including an affordable cost of living, well-developed infrastructure, several services and regulations that guarantee investment security. Moreover, a skilled workforce, both in terms of quantity and quality, is crucial. This workforce must comprise individuals with the right expertise, background and capabilities to ensure seamless operations and ongoing production.

Kelly México offers support for various workforce strategies. Whether businesses require permanent employees, contingent or temporary workers, project-based staff or outsourcing services, Kelly Méxicocan help. Our service offerings are tailored to meet the diverse needs of businesses aiming to establish a presence in Mexico.

Q: What key message would you like to impart to MBN’s readers?

A: Mexico is a significant economic power in North America, strategically positioned and benefiting from diverse resources. To harness this potential fully, Mexico must establish a robust political strategy. There is substantial work ahead, requiring collaboration between the government and businesses. We must prioritize bolstering infrastructure, instilling investor confidence and ensuring policy stability.

At Kelly México, we recognize the evolving nature of talent in Mexico. Today, talent transcends borders, connecting regions like Mexico with places as far-reaching as India, West Africa and Asia. Businesses in Mexico need more than temporary talent; they require flexibility, continuous learning, development and adaptability.
