Udemy will launch its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, a new tool designed to embed personalized learning directly into the daily workflow of employees. The server, developed by Udemy’s Innovation Studio, enables organizations to deliver training within commonly used AI platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor, offering real-time access to skill-building content without disrupting productivity.

“Companies, especially large enterprises, are making significant investments in AI tools, but the real challenge is making those tools useful in day-to-day work,” says Hugo Sarrazin, President and CEO, Udemy.

The MCP Server is positioned as a response to a growing challenge faced by enterprises investing heavily in AI tools, ensuring these tools translate into practical, everyday utility for employees.

The technology leverages the MCP framework developed by Anthropic to deliver relevant learning content within existing digital ecosystems, including customer relationship management software, coding environments, and AI interfaces. By configuring the MCP Server with role-specific parameters, companies can generate tailored learning experiences that align with individual job functions and organizational priorities, all while maintaining data security and privacy.

Rather than requiring custom development or changes to internal systems, the server integrates through pre-built connectors. This approach aims to address the complexity of fragmented technology stacks. The MCP Server's design avoids the need for additional infrastructure, offering organizations a plug-and-play solution that supports scalable reskilling efforts.

The server also provides real-time support through micro-courses and curated lessons, which users can access directly in response to specific challenges. This format is intended to reduce time spent away from core tasks, allowing employees to upskill in the flow of work. Additionally, users can leverage existing features such as Udemy’s AI Role Play, which offers simulations to help transition from skill development to skill mastery.

The MCP Server will officially launch in August, with early access granted to select Udemy Business customers through the company’s Early Adopters Program. This group will have the opportunity to test the product’s capabilities and contribute to its ongoing development.

Udemy operates across multiple international markets, including Mexico, which serves as one of the company’s regional hubs. "Organizations in Mexico are undergoing rapid digital transformation and are increasingly investing in skills development opportunities for their employees to stay ahead of the curve," says Raphael Spinelli, Director of Enterprise Sales for Latin America, Udemy.
