IBM and JLL announced a global sustainability solution powered by IBM Envizi technology, delivered by JLL’s sustainability services team. This solution aims to assist the commercial real estate sector in achieving its decarbonization goals through enhanced ESG reporting and data management.

JLL’s Sustainability Program Management will now incorporate the IBM Envizi ESG Suite, providing robust data management for ESG metrics. This integration is designed to help organizations capture and manage data across real estate portfolios, facilitating decision-making and public reporting. Recognizing the critical role of data management and reporting, JLL has identified IBM Envizi as a key component of its Sustainability Program Management solution.

“As ESG reporting requirements are increasingly mandated, our clients rely on us to help deliver decarbonization strategies across their portfolios. We identified IBM Envizi as our preferred solution to provide more robust reporting and data management around these strategies,” stated Guy Grainger, Global Head of Sustainability Services, JLL. Meanwhile, Kendra DeKeyrel, Vice President of ESG and Asset Management, IBM underscored that organizations need ESG data to underpin their sustainability performance initiatives and reporting. “We look forward to working with JLL to enable their customer base with our AI-infused, specialized software to meet their evolving business needs,” she said.

Despite the growing importance of ESG integration, many organizations lag in incorporating these metrics into core functions. According to the IBM Institute for Business Value report, The ESG Data Conundrum, only 20% of respondents integrate ESG metrics into supply chain operations, 26% into procurement and sourcing, and just 11% into real estate and facilities management. Enhanced ESG integration is crucial, as companies that operationalize sustainability are 52% more likely to outperform their peers on profitability and experience a 16% higher rate of revenue growth, according to the IBM report Beyond Checking the Box.
