Q: How does DXC Technology approach IT modernization for clients?

A: DXC Technology is a Fortune 500 professional services company with over 60 years of market experience, billing approximately US$16 billion annually. Its primary differentiator is that it supports its clients with 360-degree visibility on their strategic technology modernization roadmap.

Competitors solely approach digitalization through the lens of infrastructure or application management, including networking and process optimization. DXC Technology has both infrastructure and application assessment capabilities for a more holistic approach to IT modernization. This is an important capacity considering the convergence of infrastructure and application, giving DXC Technology the upper hand in diagnostic capability for integral problem solving. We also have a diverse client portfolio that has allowed us to amass industry-specific intelligence, allowing DXC Technology to anticipate the potential needs of clients.

Q: Which areas of IT are being prioritized by companies and how does DXC accompaniment differ from other providers?

A: In the past 30 years, IT has changed from a source of cost efficiency and facilitator of regulatory compliance to a strategic asset for the exploration of additional business avenues and incomes. The digital transformation and the promise of a digital-first global economy incentivized this shift, prompting companies to prioritize technology investments that give them the flexibility to adapt to a rapidly evolving ecosystem. This demand is seen in the accelerated growth of agile cloud services, which demands to be able to work across all environments and thoughtfully modernize, optime and integrate clouds and on-premises IT with applications, security and analytics. These technologies have become the core of companies’ business strategies. More recently, companies have become preoccupied with integrating artificial intelligence to complement their value proposition.

DXC Technology supports companies through this transition, assisting them in improving costs through greater digital efficiency and helping them identify potential business avenues.

Q: What sets DXC Technology apart from other service providers when it comes to unlocking data for deeper insights and elevating customer experiences?

A: The main difference is that DXC Technology approaches data analysis through an industry-specific lens. We understand that, fundamentally, the data points of interest will differ from industry to industry, which directly impacts a company's capacity to successfully unlock business value, automate operations and solve complex challenges. Industry expertise imparts our consultants with the ability to select strategic data points and constellations that will render the greatest added value through interpretation, administration and management.

Q: How does DXC Technology ensure that its clients' sensitive data and IT infrastructure are secure during the modernization process?

A: DXC Technology has extensive cybersecurity intelligence compounded over years of first-hand experience across our network, which includes Brazil, Costa Rica, the EU and the US. Through constant monitoring, we learn how malicious actors innovate in terms of cybersecurity attacks to obtain information.

Q: How is a perceived nearshoring wave incentivizing manufacturing companies to modernize their digital architectures?

A: Mexico has the potential to become a global exporter of products and services, not solely because of low input costs but thanks to its ability to contribute added-value through innovation. This is a challenging transition but necessary as India positions itself to supplant China as the “factory of the world,” premised on its abundant unskilled talent pool. Mexico cannot rely on its proximity to northern markets to incentivize transnational companies to come; it must be able to differentiate itself in other capacities to compete with India. This will ultimately depend on Mexico’s ability to produce goods and deliver services with the same, if not superior, quality as industrialized countries.

We are helping various companies in key manufacturing centers in Mexico to diversify their capacities, so they can meet the opportunity and face the accompanying challenges.
