SAP México has appointed Paola Becerra as its new president, marking a leadership change set to take effect on April 1, 2025.  She takes over from Rui Botelho, who transitions to lead SAP operations in Brazil after overseeing the company’s direction in Mexico throughout 2024.

“I take on the presidency with the commitment to continue contributing to Mexico’s digital transformation. We believe that technology, the cloud, and maximizing data utilization are key for more Mexican companies to thrive in an increasingly challenging market,” says Becerra.

SAP established its presence in Latin America 30 years ago, selecting Mexico as its entry point into the region, Botelho previously told MBN. Since then, the company has experienced substantial growth, serving more than 10,000 customers in Mexico, 80% of which are small and medium-sized enterprises. SAP credits its expansion to democratizing access to technology, enabling SMEs to utilize the same advanced solutions as larger corporations.

"We believe that technology, the cloud, and maximizing data utilization are key for more Mexican companies to stand out and establish themselves in a competitive market," says Becerra.

Botelho previously emphasized SAP’s commitment to innovation in Mexico and Latin America, particularly in AI and sustainability solutions. The company has been expanding its portfolio to support businesses across industries in their digital transformation efforts.

Becerra’s leadership is expected to further strengthen SAP’s position in the Mexican market, reinforcing its focus on cloud solutions and customer success.

Becerra brings extensive experience within SAP, having joined the company in April 2018 to lead the ERP Cloud Business in Mexico, according to her LinkedIn profile. In 2019, she was named Vice President of Customer Experience, SAP México, and two years later, she took on the role of Senior Vice President for SAP CX in Latin America. After four years managing SAP’s CX Business, she became Head of Cloud Success Services, overseeing SAP Consulting and Customer Engagement with a team of over 400 professionals. Most recently, she served as Chief Business Officer, where she was responsible for SAP México’s cloud revenue growth, focusing on delivering value-driven solutions for customers.
