Japanese company Yamaguchi MFG México inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Villa de Pozos, reinforcing San Luis Potosi’s role as a strategic hub for the automotive industry in Mexico. The project represents an investment of more than MX$250 million and will generate 100 direct jobs, contributing to the economic growth and industrial development of the region.

Company executives highlighted the state’s favorable business environment, skilled workforce and logistical advantages as key factors in their decision to expand operations in the entity. “This opening reflects our confidence in Mexico’s industrial potential and in the people of San Luis Potosi,” company representatives said during the opening ceremony.

The new plant strengthens local supply chains and supports nearshoring trends by increasing regional manufacturing capacity. The investment also promotes knowledge transfer, process improvement and workforce training for suppliers in the automotive sector.

According to local authorities, the arrival of Japanese capital reaffirms private sector confidence in the state’s infrastructure and export-oriented economy. It is expected to drive new business opportunities for SMEs meeting international standards.

Yamaguchi MFG’s new operations are designed to boost productivity, efficiency and technological specialization in automotive assembly platforms, positioning San Luis Potosi as a competitive destination for high-precision manufacturing.

Founded in Japan, Yamaguchi MFG specializes in high-precision automotive components and advanced engineering. The company operates globally, recognized for its innovation, quality, and operational efficiency. Its expansion into Mexico aligns with its strategy to strengthen regional supply chains amid growing nearshoring opportunities across North America.
