Danone México Strengthens Commitment to Health, Nutrition
Grupo Danone Mexico reaffirms its commitment to health and nutrition through the Ruta de Impacto Danone strategy, which focuses on developing science-based healthy product categories. The company aims to offer food and beverages that promote a balanced lifestyle and meet consumers' nutritional needs.
Mary Luz Valderrama, Vice President of Research and Innovation, Grupo Danone México, says that focusing on dairy, water, and plant-based beverages allows the company to generate a positive impact on the health of Mexican families. In line with this vision, one in four of Danone México’s products has received certification from recognized institutions such as the Mexican Pediatric Association and the Mexican Diabetes Federation. Additionally, 100% of the company’s portfolio aimed at children is fortified with vitamins and minerals to ensure proper nutritional intake, says Valderrama.
Danone has a network of over 1,700 experts across more than 40 countries collaborating in eight research centers worldwide. This ecosystem enables continuous innovation to support consumer health, says the company. It was ranked first in the 2024 Global Access to Nutrition Index (ATNI), which evaluates more than 30 major food sector companies worldwide.
Valderrama highlights the importance of advancing nutrition science to support consumer health from early childhood to adulthood. She adds that Danone remains dedicated to nourishing the future of Mexican families.
