A total of 16 tequila companies received the Made in Mexico certification, granted by the federal government through the Ministry of Economy. The first group of certified companies obtained more than 86 certificates covering both their legal entities and the brands they produce. The Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT) and the Ministry of Economy are working together to ensure that 100% of tequila producers achieve this certification.

Alberto Uribe, Director General of National Content, Ministry of Economy, said the program is a nationwide priority initiative designed to strengthen domestic value chains and boost the competitiveness of Mexican companies. He highlighted the need to reduce trade deficits, particularly with Asia, by promoting national production and certification programs.

The Made in Mexico certification distinguishes products that meet high production and quality standards, aiming to enhance the global perception of Mexican goods and increase confidence in their value.

The tequila companies that received the certification are: Agroindustrias de Guadalajara, Casa Tequilera Alma de México, Casa Tequilera de Arandas, Destiladora de Agave Azul, Destiladora del Valle de Tequila, Destilería El Magnífico, Diageo México Comercializadora, Grupo Tequilero México, Hacienda de Oro, La Cofradía, La Madrileña, Rivesca, Tequila Centinela, Tequila Ofendían de Jalisco, Tequila San Matías de Jalisco, and Tequila Siete Leguas.

The initiative supports the tequila industry’s growth by ensuring certified producers meet regulatory standards while reinforcing Mexico’s position in international markets.
