The State of Mexico will implement the highest subsidy in the country for white corn production, offering an additional MX$1,000/t, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. María Eugenia Rojano, State Minister of Agriculture, emphasized that while other states have introduced similar incentives, State of Mexico is providing the highest subsidy as a complement to the federal price guarantee.

The current price guarantee for white corn is set at MX$6,000/t, a reduction from the previous cycle. In response, Governor Delfina Gómez launched the subsidy program to offset lower prices and support farmers selling to the federal government. Jorge Ernesto Hernández, Coordinator of Special Studies and Projects, State’s Ministry of Agriculture, stated that the operational rules for the Complementary Support Program for the Guaranteed Price of White Corn will be published soon.
